When you do the news - we have to retell the bad news over and over again. After a while you have to shake it off and try to remain positive. It's like going to a horror movie eighty times - after a while you start to get numb to the really bad scenes.

also when you do the news.. you do fundraisers. This saturday at Liberty park in slc we are raising money to find a cure for breast cancer.

I just saw my brother in law this weekend - he's bald from chemo.

Yes the economy's bad .. but I gotta have faith it will come back. and if it doesn't we're still here fighting the good fight and able to do so.

If you have cancer or any disease .. you know health is worth all the stocks in the world.

so shake off the economy and come out and meet some amazing people who will make your problems seem very small.

last time i wrote i asked you how you're dealing. ok .. we had the first hit with the 500 point loss.. went up and now way down. Some people are referring to the 777 like 666 but this time I'm not as freaked out as last week. I can't explain it - but I figure we'll figure it out. Just hanging on for this ride.. however you want to describe it.

I'm going to relish in a little bit of positive thinking .. but I'll check in Thursday when we find out what the Washignton brain trust decided.

wow.. do you feel like the recent up and downs of the economy are taking you on an emotional roller coaster ride between fear, panic and relief. the dow is up and down four to five hundred points on any given day - the uncertainty can fray already chewed up nerves.

tonight we did a story with three children who lost their father in a train wreck. One of the man's sons said .. alway say good bye and I love you because I didn't have that chance and I regret that. That young man really touched me because I know how he feels -  I lost one of my best friends about fifteen years ago - and a big regret is he asked me to come over to see him the night he died - but I had plans and told him sorry --i'd see him the next day. Marco died that night - I have to echo this boy tonight .. don't miss an opportunity to say I love you - you just never know what can happen.

We reported on a teacher at west high who is charged with sexual activity with a seventeen year old girl.  The teacher is in his forties - I remember when I was in high school we had a teacher who was dating his students as well. As a high schooler - we all knew about it ..  our teacher was in his twenties.. but he was still in a postion of trust.

As an adult looking at this situation - it's hard to imagine what this young gal will go through moving forward.

I've gotta tell you.. my heart breaks for attorney general  Mark Shurtleff. He has gone through it --surgery after surgery -- trying to put his leg back together after an accident.

I don't care if you vote for him or not.. you gotta feel for the guy! Get well Mark Shurteff - we wish you well.

We did a story this evening on a man who is accused of sexually abusing his step daugther for years.. he and the mom divorced then a DECADE LATER he is found in Wyoming and brought in. I cannot imagine this kind of tragedy no matter how much news we do. The good news - the cops got their man.

Michelle Obama took the stage in Denver tonight and I thought she was quite impressive. Forget the politics - this is a polished, smart woman. I was motivated by her ..and it was great to hear how the two of them work together as a team.

I also like Cindy McCain - she runs her father's business and is a pistol as well.

First I want to thank all of you for showing up for the sleep over at my house.. it was really a great time! I haven't blogged in a bit and need to catch up.

First .. really the little girl in China who sang before a packed crowd was lip sinking because the girl who really could sing .. wasn't cute enough?? shocking

Monday i did the story on the man who created men on a mission, a calendar of former missionaries who posed shirtless for a calendar ... loved that story.  I made a new friend - Chad is a hoot.

This week is the UTah jazzzzz fest in Park City.. life is good.

tonight we reported on a new dui campaign that's actually very clever. the dept. of highway safety is joining with bars and restaurants who will use napkins and coasters that have reminders not to drink and drive. and at lumpy's restaurant and bar.. the bathroom resembles a jail cell! so when you're in the bathroom .. sitting down ... it may feel like a jail cell.  that may give someone pause before they grab the keys and go.

tonight on the show we had a woman who paid about fifty thousand bucks to get her dead dog cloned. if you read my previous entry .. you know my love for my big kitty.

So would I clone him? YOU BET!! Everyone should have this awesome kind of cat!

Then I started thinking ... what if you were a polygamist and liked one of your wives more than the others.. you could clone that one and marry her over and over again...:)

tonight a man attacked by a pit bull was helped by another man who got bit as well.

these guys were terrific.. it's sad the dog will probably be put down .. but the one man said it best .. he doesnt consider it a dog problem.. but a dog OWNER problem. 

last night we had a forty four pound tabby cat featured. the dear girl was found and taken to the shelter. come on this cat had to be loved... SOMEONE had to be feeding her .. unless she lived in a restaurant unseen.

I get a lot of ribbing about my magnificant orange cat - but he's a TOOTHPICK in comparison. my baby is just sixteen pounds .. and he's active and healthy .

Whoa! Just when you think you've got construction woes a two hundred and ten thousand pound load lands on I-15 and backs up traffic for ten hours!!!

This was a big mess - people were on the side of the road with their hoods up - the heat got up to 98 I'm told - and I would imagine plenty of folks ran out of gas.

If caught in your car in that traffic tie up for HOURS - what would you do? Are you a cool cat who would turn off the car and meditate - or would you be crawling out of your skin?

Me I have three books on tape in the car practically at all times. ... still this wouldve have made me really frustrated!

Tonight the boy who is in a medical coma after gettting hurt by a homemade firework has been in surgery for hours today - Mom told fox thirteen she doesnt know yet if he will lose his leg. So sad - The man who made the firework - some are calling it a pipebomb- that exploded and injured the boy told the media he will do whatever he can to help this child.

This is one of those heartbreaking stories - someone does something well - not so bright - and a little innocent is harmed.

I can't imagine how this man feels - and I can't say enough prayers for this little boy.

I'm so hoping primary children docs can save his leg..
