We all know that when you want to reach for the most extreme example of evil, you play the Hitler card.

When you want the most extreme example of coddling evil, you play the Nazi appeaser card.

President Bush chose to use a speech to Israeli lawmakers to accuse Barack Obama of appeasement because of his oft-stated willingness to speak to leaders of unfriendly countries.  In this case, he was talking about Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

It seems like criticizing a fellow American elected official, especially one who may soon be president, before a foreign government would be out-of-bounds, even in the rough-and-tumble world of politics.

What do you think?  Fair game, or too extreme?

why was it wrong for bush to make his comment, when it is perfectly acceptable for idiots like jimmy carter to go around the world and criticize EVERYTHING that bush says and does???? why is it OK for hilbillary clintonista AND barak obama bin laden to use the campaign trail to ridicule and criticize bush for being a lousy pres, but bush has to keep his mouth shut and never say anything??
to even suggest that a sitting president should sit down and negotiate with someone like dictator tom (Ahmadinejad) is ridiculous. and i most certainly do NOT want the president of our nation to negotiate, talk, communicate, or otherwise engage in any kind of dialogue with ANY regime or despot such as that that rules iran, north korea, or syria. nor do i want them to sit down with the leaders of a terrorist organization like jimmy carter did when he sat down with the leaders of hamas!!

Cheap shot by President Bush that insulted the integrity of this nation. Not too many species are so cruel as to devour their own. Our President did it from long distance while on a world stage.

As far as the hate card ... you might include the Pol Pot School of educational reform, the Razputin School of religious tolerance , the Idi Amin Schools of national good and international integrity and the Abu Abbas School of international seamanship.

Despots in any form are intolerable.

That being said, I don't understand why negotiation is always equated with weakness. The worse that happens is that we gain more knowledge. Knowledge is a good thing.

Excuse the analogy, but I'd rather know about what Hitler was doing so it could be stopped than to pretend there was no problem. We can't know what others are doing without having working, if not workable, diplomatic relationships.

Question.. after all the Blunders on Capitol Hill isnt it a bit odd that any of us still listen? I mean really this is a great country but man have we had one electoral mistake after another.. Jimmy Carter Kept us from the Russian Olympics and caused the Cold War to get Colder.. not to say that It would have been any better to go,.. maybe would have lost some athletes there... and then Reagan.. Trickle Down Economics What?!?@?... The Bush2 regime that makes no sense.. let an Oil Barron run the country and we are at war with all the oil producing nations for control. Oh I almost for got Clinton .. Sure elect me and I will Leagalize "it" sure the same guy that didnt inhale and we didnt expect for him to waste our money too??? What do we expect from these guys? Its time we got someone in there that doesnt stand to gain financialy from running the country and changing laws to fit their lifestyle and ambition...

Max Roth...Hitler is just a small facet of "Evil" in the world...lets look at what the USA has done..wait, thats another topic for my blog.

OBama...this guy is not a saint. Fact is, he is going to be JUST as bad if not worse than Bush.
I remember a speech earlier this year, saying he would invade Pakistan if he was in office. Now...Bush wants to say Obama did appeasement.Well, it can not be worse than Saudi Arabia wanting to influence political change through manipulation of the oil production

Hi Max!

Hitler's picture HAS to be in the dictionary next to the word evil. His little mini me's sucking up need to be mentioned, also. Oh, and don't forget, the little Hitler wanna be Hussein. I think his mini me's were in it for $$ and to not DIE.

Sorry, off topic.

Fair game. Bush can mud sling all he wants. So what? He is always getting hit with mud and has to play nice. He is not running for anything, and I think it is time for him to say what he really feels, not having to waste time on being PC.

If Obama or Hilarious or even McCain can't take the heat, they have made the wrong career choice.

Going to talk with the terrorists and handing out red white and blue loli pops is not going to make Iran leave Israel alone. It is not going to get Korea to stop building nukes to kill us. (Why was Pulosi not thrown in jail for going over there against orders? This is the third in line for president?)

Nixon ... China

Reagan ... Russia

Kennedy ...Soviet Union

Roosevelt ... Stalin (one of history's grand despots)

They did it and what they did brought about downfalls of global proportions ... including that of Hitler. Suddenly a Presidential candidate who advocates for something that has been infinitely successful numerous times is a traitor ... I don't think so!

Like it or not, there's a difference between the government of a sovereign nation and a terrorist organization.
