Anyone seen the cover of Newsweek? It's got Gov. Sarah Palin, up close and personal. So close up that "some", we'll call them the critics, say it went too far. Newsweek won't comment, but the experts in the field of retouching say she wasn't touched up. She was exposed, flaws and all. Her facial hair, wrinkles, moles. Critics say Barack Obama has been on the cover plenty of times, making him look "Presidential", with touch ups to make him look "soft." What do you think? Everyone is welcome to comment, but what do you (the females) think about the cover? Many of you may say: embrace our flaws! I agree. We're not perfect! Nobody is flawless. But I think the point critics were trying to make is that Newsweek set out to make Palin look flawed, on purpose. All I know is this, take a shot of ANYONE that close up without a little airbrushing and it won't be "pretty."

Hence the article's title. That's another issue for some pundits. The title on the cover: "She's one of the folks (and that's the problem)."

Here's a link to the cover...

K, what do you think now? Regardless (politics aside), I think we can all agree that Mrs. Palin is GORGEOUS!

Have a good weekend! Thank you my friends, as always for sharing your OPINIONS...

There have been what some would describe as 'bad photos' of everyone who is running that race.

The photo purposely wasn't retouched. How could they have 'made' Governor Palin look flawed? She is what she is.

I don't judge my candidates on physical attractiveness.

I think the national media is really anti Palin and anti McCain so I believe this was on purpose.

I saw the magazine cover. I think Governer Sarah Palin is beautiful inside and out. I hope she becomes Vice President.

the media tends to have a liberal slant on what they report (sometime intentionally; sometimes not). Barrack Obama is the media darling. the media will, therefore, cast him in as favourable of a light as possible. Sarah Palin seems to have descovered the relationship between one's foot and one's mouth.

the media will tend to exploit these flaws so they have something to report. then we all sit at home and laugh about it. they show physical defects to grab the readers' attention. the fact we are currently writing blogs about this suggests that they have achieved their purpose. i would, however, agree with mariposa. i do not judge my candidates on physical appearance.

as for the liberal spin on the media, perhaps it is for the best. i would rather have a liberal media than a conservative one because liberal sophistries tend to be easier to detect than conservative.

I hadn't heard any criticism before my copy came in the mail. I looked at the cover and thought she looked great. There was a recent Obama cover where he looked pretty grey and haggard. I got it and thought...oh, the campaign has aged him. Anyway, I don't get the controversy.
