Yes, I'm seriously asking because there are a lot of people who believe in the spirit world. I'm just wondering if you're one of them. And if you're not, you'll want to see the story too. Halloween is tomorrow (cue the cheesiness), and I thought doing a story on ghost hunting would be fun and interesting this time of year. Everyone loves a good ghost story, right?

For those of you who read my blogs, you know that I pay very close attention to what people blog about. That's how I came across the Wasatch Paranormal Investigators. They are a group of Utah ghost hunters. They were nice enough to let me tag along. We went ghost hunting in Eureka one weekend (at night, yes...in the wee hours). And let me just say, thanks to all the Eureka residents who welcomed us with open arms. My favoirte person I met was Billy Baum. He owns all the historic buildings we investigated, and he was just so adorable! With my personal feelings aside, I had to approach this story as a reporter! I had a blast, and I also got spooked a couple times. But the question is: do ghosts really exist and if so why are they here? What do they want from us? I examine all those questions.

If you want to see the story "SPIRIT STALKERS", it's tonight at 9!!! It airs in TWO parts, so make sure you watch the ENTIRE newscast! And when you're done watching, tell me what you think. I asked you a couple questions in my story, so I'd love to get your thoughts.

Between now and when my story airs, feel free to share your thoughts about the spirit world...

Thanks for watching!

Very lame. If there were ghosts everyone would know it and no one would need to 'believe' in them.

Yes skooby , you had a very lame comment here.

I would say im pretty sure people's energy lives on outside of the body.
Einstien proved energy is never destroyed it only changes form right??? ... so thats proof enough for me.

Ive had a few experiences with what is deemed paranormal. Like for example me and a few of the others that worked on setting up body worlds , felt there were ghostly presence in the Leonardo. Stuff like you thought you saw someone out of the corner of your eye , or felt like someone was behind you ... but no person was there. I would say the ghosts weren't malicious though. They just like books I guess , and havent realized they moved them next door. LOL

Our eyes only see a tiny fraction of the total spectrum of light. Our ears only hear a tiny fraction of the total spectrum of sound. Is it possible that something may be outside the limits of or perceptions? Definitely!

Our perceptions are very limited.

We can not See, hear, touch, taste, or smell an atom... Do they exist?

Do I believe in ghosts? Certainly the possibility exists...

Mktavish- Good points on energy... Never created or destroyed. I wonder where it came from to begin with?

'Einstien proved energy is never destroyed it only changes form right?'
You have a fundamental misunderstanding of how your brain works. Your consciousness is not an 'energy'. Consciousness is the result of chemical processes in living creatures. Also, having a 'feeling' of something in the room with you can be caused by electromagnetic fields. Look up the 'god helmet' for further reading. There was a group of nuns that were having demonic dreams. Luckily, before they were put through mass exorcisms someone realize that all the nuns had clock radio alarms right next to their heads. The radios were removed and the dreams stopped.

Not saying whether I believe or not, but ...

When the Mexican government moved a monolith of Tlaloc (the rain god) from its archaeological site to in front of the Anthropology Museum 40 years ago, they made sure the move happened in the middle of the dry season. It rained each of the nine days the trip took.

When Disneyland moved Walt's office from the studio to the park, strange things started happening ... as if he was displeased.

One night just over 25 years ago I woke up and thought to look at the clock which showed just past 2AM. I received a phone call later that morning saying that my father had passed away ... at just past 2AM.

A thought on electromagnetic energy ... it is well documented that members of the dolphin family are able to communicate with autistic children - sometimes over great distances - due to their brains being on the same frequency. I took my son to see Keiko (Free Willy) in Oregon. We had seen him perform in Mexico City. Sam was wearing the t-shirt from Mexico. Keiko came to the window right in front of Sam and stayed there. Sam said that Keiko was communicating with him, but that he didn't understand. I suggested Sam write down what Keiko was 'saying'. Keiko spontanteously performed some of his routine. I happened to know Karla Corral, Keiko's trainer for ten years. When I saw her again, I showed her Sam's notes. She said it was exactly the way Keiko would communicate.

Not saying I beleive, but have you ever felt like someone was watching you when no one was there or felt a cold chill or your hair stand up on the back of your neck for no reason. Between the Brain and your instincts some things happen that can't always be explained. Are spirts realy out there? Don't know, but it's always a great conversation piece.

I very much believe in the Spirit World. Our friends and family that have passed on do watch over their loved ones here on earth.

'it is well documented that members of the dolphin family are able to communicate with autistic children'

What? Documented by who? And how exactly do you document such a thing?

I'm excited the topic got everyone talking...hope you tune in tonight at 9. Hopefully, everyone will enjoy the piece. Remember to tell me what you think (even if you think it's lame Skooby, lol).
Either way, I had fun doing the story. I learned a lot about Eureka and it's charm. Plus, I got to hang out with some interesting people!

Nineveh
Hold on. I should have expanded. Ghost 'stories' can be fun. Ghost hunters are lame. If they do it for fun then fine. If they do it for a living, then very lame and a sad way to make money.

I do believe in Ghosts actually. I have a great great Aunt who lives in Eureka. I'm very glad that you got to meet Billy, he's a very very intresting man to speak with.
Every year my sister and I go with our family, and spend the night down there, around the August time when they do the parades. We love to go out from about Midnight to Five in the morning to roam the city, and go around the old old hot spots to see what we can see.... " And we've seen some things.
I've also had some experiences, some good and some bad, but I normally don't like to share, because everyone that I normally tell thinks that I'm "Making it up"
I was very surprised when you said that you were in Eureka. It was a very nice town back then, and I hope to see it re gain it's status that it used to have. I hope that you had fun in that haunted little city ... you never know if you're alone there!!!

Dang I missed it ... and those jeans ...

Skooby: I know about electro magnetic feilds.
They are actually a pretty good way to measure paranormal activity.
I have had few other experiences besides the Leonardo ... that made that one seem tame compared. You saying that the chemicals in our bodies are engery reactions ,only validates my point.
Ya ... akiame , never created either. Thanx ;)

Skooby,

I'm not going to do your research for you. Nor am I going to take time away from the task at hand to try to prove anything to you. There's enough information out for you to easily find on your own.
