Well he lost, unfortunately anyone who complains about how fake the show is will be instantly dismissed since they are from Utah

Lol! I've been calling the show a fake since Reuban Stoddard "beat" Clay Aiken several years ago.

No one listened to me then, either. lol

So I voted last night 1866 idols 04 and it said thanks for voting for contestant #1...did this happen to anyone else? I know I wasn't hearing it wrong either because I was on speaker phone and my hubby heard it as well.

Sounds like we all agree on which David - Bottom line for this seasons American Idol - David Arculetta may have lost the vote catagory but he truly won in the TALENT and with that voice will go far!! Way to go David A. There is no question who really won this year !!!!!!

Kudos to both Davids for representing America so well. Both are deserving. The real winning moment was seeing them treat each other so well. It reminded me of a big brother/little brother relationship. I am happy to see that.

The right David truely did win. David A. is a great singer and represented Utah to his highest ability but this compition was not Utah Idol it was American Idol & David C. represented the country with his ever changing styles of music and his ability to adapt a hit song that we all know & love to one that we fall in love with all over again. David A. singing style was very one sided through out the entire compition which is what hurt him in the long run.

This was totally rigged. I called in 37 times till three hours after the show. I didnt get through once. This happened to everyone in my family, and my friends to. This was totally rigged. There is no possible way he lost by 12 million votes. Did this happen to anyone else?

My 10 year old got through 15 times on all three of David A's. numbers, granted she probably tried about a 100 times but she was still able to represent our Utah boy.

i think its funny. i watched the news a couple weeks ago and saw David A fans sending text after text when only one vote per phone was all that was accepted. 8 million members of the LDS church couldn't even help him with 292 million other americans in the world. But I say congrats to both

David Archuleta #1 !!!!!! I am so sad that he lost, but I wonder if some were hesitent to vote for him in an effort to avoid another Britney Spear's type of ending. He is such a sweet guy and a beautiful singer. I am a true blue Archie fanatic! Can't wait for his albumn!!

They are both winners

I knew weeks ago that the top two contestants would be David Archuleta and David Cook. They are both very talented, an inspiration to all the people in the world, and let others know they can go after their dreams as long as they try. I can not imagine how many hearts these two young people touched. It really shows the young people that they can have the things they dream of if they work hard and have a goal to acheive them.

Even though David Archuleta did not get the title of American Idol, he still won what he wanted to win. All David wanted to do was show the public that he had a dream of being up infront of the world to show off his talent. Big dreams get you to big places. He will succeed very successfully in the music industry.

David Cook will also succeed in the music industry. He is very talented and worked hard progressing as far as he did. Working hard pays off in the end.

Congradulations to both contestants, they are both winners in my eyes.

You know it really doesn't matter who won 2008 American Idol, because altimately it's about the CD and MP3 sales. Let's see who does better with those in a year.

A reason why Cook won over Archuleta is that there may be more fans of rock then there are fans of pop/adult contemporary music.

To me, both Davids should have been crowned king of season 7 American Idol; Cook season 7 American Idol Rocker and Archuleta season 7 American Idol Pop Singer.

It was a great battle. It's been a few years since American Idol had awesome talent on the show. Wish, you Americans could get the show feed for Canadian Idol. You'd be amazed at our talent north of you border.

I think David Archuleta should of won American Idol.

I think he is a much better singer than cook.

I feel that the voteing was not done fare. If you think about it, the last night you had 4 hour's to vote, not two. Well alot of Archuletas fan's are young. There parent's would not let these young kid's stay up to midnight not vote, as they had school the next day. I feel that if the voteing would of been done earlyer, or if they would of only allowed one phone call or text per phone, that Archuleta would of won hand's down!

I guess it don't matter now, as we know Archuleta is the best singer ever and he will go far with his singing if he choose's to.

I will pay money to hear Archuleta sing, but won't pay a cent for cook.

What is interesting is that David Cook's fan base had an entire extra hour to vote because Utah gets the show an hour later than it really airs!!! Rediculous!

I have a strong opinion & knowledge of political issues! I believe in progress, goals, and to obtain them compromise is a key factor. Limiting or Manipulation with Ultimatums are not Progress! MY HEROES = THE USA MILITARY THE PROUD AND THE BRAVE ! ALL TRUE HEARTED AMERICANS FOR THEIR DAILY ACCOMPLISHMENTS FOR PEACE AND FREEDOM FOR ALL MANKIND NO MATTER WHERE THEY LIVE!! All it takes for evil to triumph over good is for good people to do nothing! Victory will come when the terrorists and Saddamists can no longer threaten Iraq's democracy, When the Iraqi security forces can provide for the safety of their own citizens, and when Iraq is not a safe haven for terrorists to plot new attacks on our nation.
