Gordon B. Hinckley, president of the LDS church has died.  Hinckley died at about 6:30 Sunday evening in his Salt Lake City home. 

He was born in 1910 in Salt Lake City.  After serving a mission for the church in Great Britain, he married Marjorie pay in 1937.  They had five children.

He served in the first presidency from 1981 through 1995 under presidents Spencer W. Kimball, Ezra Raft Benson, and Howard w. Hunter.  He was called as the president of the church in 1995.
