(See Nineveh's Report from this morning.....)

Once again...  It lurks out there ready to get you.

In Mid-July, my neighborhood (of about 80 of us) attended an "After-hours" pool party at the West Jordan Outdoor Pool 8200 S. 2200 West (which is operated by SL County Parks & Rec).

It was only later the week  following we found out that "someone" has problems with their bodily functions (both top and bottom).  The pool operators present did not warn us or inform us of the incident.  We found out afterwards they had only closed the pool for 90 mins because of the incident and "sprinkled" clorine in the area after solid matter was removed.

The following weekend at another gathering, the neighbors talked.  We were ALL suffering "flu-like" symptoms of the worst kind.

So...we started calling everyone who attended that party.... Here is what wer found:

We found out that of the 60 that were actually in the water, 40 got sick.  And as of today... there are still 15 still suffering the "Flu-like" sypmtoms.

The incident was reported to the SL Valley Health Dept.  They were really ncie people to work with.  Very helpful and informative.   I wish I could say they same about the SL Parks & Rec People.  We were turned a deaf ear.  It was only after a few of us contacted a member of the County Council did we get any reponse and reply from Parks & Rec.

So everyone... Heed the warnings now being given by the State Health Department.

And KUDOS to Nineveh for the Story that aired this mornig.  Thanks NIN!

SHE IS FREE! SHE IS FREE! SHE IS FREE!

"Praise the Almighty and pass the BBQ Sauce."

Parris Hilton is Free. She was released  from the LA County Facility where she was held.

Oh what a great day!  @$)*#$^  my butt!  Once again, the circus begins!

They had to make room in the "system" for Actor Tom Sizemore who was sentenced to 16 months in prison for "violation  of the terms of his release".  Sound familiar???

Good Luck Tom.  I'll send you a "Metal File" backed into your favorite cake.

So the news is reporting that the infamous, absentee mayor of Salt Lake City has decied that he may actually run again for Mayor of Salt Lake City.

If Rocky is so enraged that the City Council "burned" him... does he really think that the citizens of Salt Lake City will give him another chance.

As a property owner in Salt Lake City, Fine, I'll take the oportunity to listen to him again.

However, he actually needs to show up to work.  The Mayor's staff  says that his time is his own.  Sorry! Wrong Answer.  When the City's "business" has suffered because he was not around, then there is a problem.

The City Council had to wait time and time again for the Mayor of the Capital City to actually be in the City to take care of business.  Not  just globe trotting on his "personal agenda".  If he is going to take off frequently for his own "Agenda", then it should not be at the expense of the citizens of Salt Lake City.

I am saddend by the news that NewsCorp (owned by Rupert Murdoch)  has announced the sale of 9 Fox stations.  One of which is our Award Winning Station right here in the Valley of the Salt Lake, FOX 13.

I hope that the new ownership will continue in the same positive pathway that our FOX has. We need this valued asset to remain as a fresh breeze in this TV market of "clones"... (I won't mention any 3 or 4 letter words) but... they all smell and look just about the same.

Pray,  Stroke the Wabbit's Foot,  Do a sacrifice on the BBQ grill and hope our li'l place of nirvana stays in it's true path with it's faithful followers in tow!

Summer Time; Summer Time; Sum Sum Summer Time...

With just a few days to go before the "Offical Day" of summer,  It is time once again to share the weekend stories...

I spent 2 hours in IKEA...and another 4 putting all the stuff I bought together... (What was I thinking...?)

Missed you all at the "pond".  The fishing was fun.  Lots of little kids to see having fun including my two...

A Litle hike up to "Moss Ledge" in Big Cottonwood was the ticket for good stress relief... Good snow further up.  I even had to dig out 18 inches of snow from the front of my Cabin so we could get in for the night.

A Good weekend to all...and to all a good weekend...

Hope you all had good ones to share....

You know it is a good week on FOX 13 when....

1. You catch Ninevah eating a "soggy" sandwich on TV.  (Was that with or without the frozen grapes?)

2. You catch the "Driving Habits" of those whom we look to for news, traffic, weather....and "driving lessons"?

3. The cow pasture is "Heaven on Earth"...

And....?

Come one...come all...

Help me out here. WE ALL NEED TO TALK FOOD.

Please and Thank You!

I hear so often about the lack of funding for Utah Schools.  But I wonder if the money spent in "TAX PAYER" dollars is being spent properly.

I will give an example... In speaking to a school teacher in the Jordan School District about her desire to move into the local adminstration.  She told me about the pay increase. Which I understand.  But what I do not understand is the "Clothing allowance" given to the "adminstrators". (ie...Asst. Principal, Principal..so forth.)

Why do we need to give a clothing allowance to an adminstrator who is making a much larger salary that a teacher?  I asked about the salary of an adminstrator... It is sizable.  Again, I ask why do they need a clothing allowance?  I wish I had one at my job!

This is not all.  A year ago I went to the local Jr.High to register my son for a "community school" class and was stunned to see a Big-Screen TV in the front office.  Not a plasma or an LCD TV... but a large projection screen type TV.  In asking the receptionist, I was told it was used as a "Marquee" for students in the halls or for visitors to the office.  I was stunned!  Why a $2500.00 TV to be used in this manor?

I don't know... I think public monies could be better spent on students...and their "teachers" not at the "discretion" of an adminstrator.

To the Fox 13 Crew...

Before you hire new "outside" talent, maybe you should give an overview of the wacky weather that we have here in Utah.  "Kidding!"

Any place you drive in this state, you are bound to see all kinds of weather at anytime of the year.

"Nin" is in shock of the "Spring Time in the Utah Rockies".  Just keep your warm clothing handy til' around May. You will most definitely neeed it.

I have to kid around with you Nineveh... Since you are new to the state, we have to pick on you a little for the weather.  It can be shock to see snow this late in March and into April. Even into July in the "High Uinta Mountains" is not unheard of.

Just be safe with the crazy "Utah Driver's" that do not understand the "Slow Down" concept whe it rains or snow.

To those who "whine" (What flavor of cheese would you like with your "WHINE"?)about our Utah weather...you should try Chicago. Cold all of the time... You get wind from the lakes across the East River.... BURRR!

Wait 20 minutes... it will change. It always does.

It was nice to actually have the season of "FALL" this year. What a great thing to live in a place where we actually have seasons.

Be nice to Mother Nature...or you'll be sorry!

Just do as Hope does...enjoy the slopes (or the lodge)... The mountains are the best year-round!

Catch you on the flip side!

Later!

Utah is Home! I've lived in other states... but Utah is Home. Good Food, Fun, Hiking and tons of other things to do. Mountains, Water, Snow... all of the best! I work in the outdoors. So being outside all of the time is better than being in my office anyday. My worst day outside is still better than being attached to the desk in my office. You Gotta Love it Baby!
