I have written on this issue a few times, so before people jump on me let me start by saying that I think what the FLDS do is horrible. I grew up in Utah and I am well aware of these radical Polygamist sects and what they do. There is nothing I would like to see more then these people prosecuted for perverting my religion (yes I'm Mormon, and no we don't practice Polygamy).

That being said, thank you to the Texas Supreme court for finally putting an end to the bladen disregard of the Consititutional by the Texas CPS. Even though I, like the majority of Americans, completly dis-agree with the what the FLDS Polygamist do, I still recognize that there is due process. Especially when it comes to children, it is important that the State make sure that they have dotted every "i" and crossed every "t", and not just rush into it. Thankfully the State Supreme Court said that CPS cannot ignore due process by going into a community with tanks and guns, take children from their mothers when no proof of abuse exists, all based on a false alegation.

Keep in mind that in the past two months that the state has had the children they are yet to prove that any abuse took place, and they are now finding out that the suposed teenage mothers are actually adults. As a member of the Law Enforcement community I find it interesting that in the past two months the State is yet to file any criminal charges or issue any warrants. The list goes on of all of the mistakes that CPS has made.

Again, I would love for these radical polygamist groups to be prosecuted, but do it correctly. The sad thing with this case is that the State has done such a poor job that they will never be able to properly investigate this group, especially if it ever goes to court. So if there are any future cases of abuse that occur out there, the State has already proven their incompetence which will allow for those men to get away with it.

Like most of America, and the world for that matter, I have seen the Indiana Jones movie. And like most people I enjoyed the movie even though its not the greatest movie ever. So Hollywood is now confused (again). How could a movie bring in so much money (300 million worldwide its opening weekend) when most people agree that it is a fun movie, but not necessarily excellent?

I have heard all the Hollywood experts say its because people aren't travelling because of high gas prices so they go to the movies instead, which I find kind of  ironic considering going to the movies with the family and buying treats still costs more then a tank of gas at $4 dollars a gallon.

Well I highly doubt that the big wigs in Hollywood are reading my blog, but here is the answer that they are looking for. We all went to see the movie, and enjoyed it because....ITS FUN!! Plain and simple as it is Hollywood, thats it, it is a fun movie, and really thats what we want.

Hollywood is so caught up in being political that they feel that a sucsessful movie must have some kind of powerful message that causes peoeple to think, or thit it must at least have stunning effects. Wrong again Hollywood. We go to the movies to be entertained, in fact box office sales show that most Americans do not go to movies that have a strong political message regardless of what the message is.

I dont know if Hollywood will ever figure it out, but when I got to an action movie I expect it to be entertaining, not realistic. When I go to a comedy movie, I expect it to be funny, not ironic. I dont go to movies so I can be aware of global warming or the political unrest in the middle east, I get plently of that crap on a daily basis.

Everyone in this country especially in the state should be extremely concerned that the state can go into a community in this country with tanks and guns and strip children from their mothers based on a false allegation.

I grew up in Utah and I am very aware of these radical polygamist sects and their history of abusing kids (especially young men that are seen as a threat to the men for the affection of the girls and are driven out.). There is nothing I would like to see more then these men be prosucuted and stopped from preverting my religion (yes I am Mormon). But this is not the way to do it. I have no problem with CPS going in and starting an investiagation, but in this case the compound was raided with guns and tanks and kids were taken from their mothers before any investigation was done, and that my friends is extremelly scary. Remember the state is yet to show us any proof of abuse.

Imagine if this was done to a Muslim Mosque compound (and polygamy is still very much practiced in the middle east), evey politician and humanrights group would be screeming bloody murder, but if its those crazy FLDS polygamists its ok. Cause we know that the polygamists are just destroing these kids and making this world unsafe, unlike all the other kids that are born to teenage mothers, no need to address that problem I guess, we must stop the polygamists!

And lets make sure that the kids are placed in Methodist, and Catholic shelters so we can get that evil polygamist thinking out of their minds!!

Again I am defending this crazy cult, but are kids really better off in the states care? Just remember that if the state can do it to this group, what happens when something you believe in, or your way of life is deemed unsafe by the State, does that mean you'll stand down too when the State comes into your community with tanks and guns and takes your kids!!

Some of my all time favorite movies are those then end without giving closure but rather make you really think. The best examples I can give is; "The Usual Suspects", "Primal Fear" (I cant stand Richard Gear but Edward Norton is amazing in this one), and "Gone Baby Gone". These are movies are exellent movies that leave you scratching your head and thinking about it for days after watching.

Lately though Hollywood must feel that the public is retarted because I am seeing so many movies now a days that are ending and not giving us anything to think about, its like their budget ran short before the could finish the film. I rented  "Before the Devil Knows your Dead" the other day, I was enjoying the movie until it just ended without giving any explanation as to what happens to several of the key character. "No Country for Old Men" another one that just seemed to end in the middle of the story. And many more. Mabey all of these scripts were written by desperate executives when the writters were on strick, I dont know tell me what you all think.

The story regarding the 13 year old girl in Athens that was beaten for bringing a sign to school that advocated putting a stop to illegal immigration brings up several issues.

1) The double standard issue; If the situation was reversed and a bunch of kids beat up a student that was pro illegal immigration, every politician and activist in the country would be here demanding the expulsion of the students and screaming "racism" at the top of their lungs.

2) Ending the discussion; Now the school is going to put a stop to students being able to even discuss the issue. So sad, because this is a serious issue in this country and it needs to be addressed. But the illegal immigration activists have done such a good job at labeling anyone who is opposed to restricting immigration as a racist that schools will not talk about the issue.

3) The sense of entitlement that illegal immigrants now have; Our country has bent over backwards for so long to help aid illegal immigrants in gaining that American dream that it has now become a "right" to many illegals and no longer a privilege. And when someone stands in their way many become violent as in the case here in Athens.

The past few days have revealed some rather enlightening details about the two candidates on the democratic side. First we had Obama and his Pastor, and now we have Hillary with her "misspoken words" on her trip in Bosnia 10 years ago. Hillary's comments on being shot at by snipers is Bosnia, I feel, are far more disgracful then Pastor Wrights anti-American comments. All though I am not a fan of Obama's I have no reason to believe that he shares any of Jerimiah Wright's anti-American and anti-white comments. Obama is a true politician, he joined that church to gain favor with the Black Community in Chicago, it wouldn't matter who the Pastor was, he was there for street credit, not spiritual enlightment. Hillary Clinton on the other hand intentionly lied, to try to gain favor with all Americans, and she did it at the expense of our Military.  It's a classic case of stolen Valor, similar to that of John Kerry's in 2004. I was never in the Military, but I am a Cop, and nothing is more disgracful then seeing a coward ride the coat tails of others and claim the honor for themselves so that they might gain favor. And then she says she misspoke, come on. Misspoke means you had a slip of the tounge, not ratteling off a 2 minute speach that was obviously pre-planned.

Trully disgusted.            canukmark in Forney.
