I'm curious, I've tried commenting on blogs posted by fellow blogger "Breakdown" and it seems as if though my comments are either disappearing after they've been posted, or they are not posted at all.

At first I though this was a technical issue, however after watching comments already posted disappear I'm starting to think the impossible. Is Breaky deleting them? Not approving them? But if so, am I the only one?

We all know that Breaky as a non-confrontational bigot who would rather live life thinking that everyone agrees with him rather than face the opposition, but I thought he'd learned something about the spirit of debate and had turned over a new leaf. Apparently not.

So, is Breaky deleting/not approving your comments? Or am I the only one?

“Senator Obama doesn’t understand…”

“Senator Obama doesn’t have the experience..”

Statements such as these were exactly what I expected to hear from McCain. In a recent blog entry, I stated that McCain is looking to win this election in the same fashion that Bush won his re-election, and I offered examples. After watching the debate and being a former McCain supporter, I was frustrated to see more evidence of my claim.

McCain isn’t telling the American people that he’s the best man for the job, he’s telling the American people that Obama is not the best man for the job, so they should vote for him instead. This is not very reassuring.

When McCain said that Obama didn’t understand, he never offered any evidence to back this statement up. He just said that he doesn’t understand, and my idea is better.

A portion of the debate that made me angry was McCain attempting to use a technicality in order to lie. He stated that Obama voted against funding for the troops. I was happy to see Obama clarify, and point out to McCain directly that the statement was false. Obama was opposed to writing Bush a blank check, as McCain was opposed to providing funding that was capped. The issue was clear, and McCain tried to spin the truth.

The Republican Party and their pundits have often said that we need a president that will be tough and not afraid to use military force.  Does this also include the inability to look your opponent in the eye and tell them they’re wrong?  Does this include telling America what we’re going to do, but not why we’re doing it?

You should vote for Obama because he’s the best man for the job.

You should vote for McCain because he doesn’t think Obama knows what he’s talking about, nor does he think Obama has the experience. And hey, his ideas are really so complex you wouldn’t understand if he explained anyway, so just vote for McCain and he'll take care of you.

McCain needs to realize that all the experience in a lifetime will not substitute for the lack of substance that makes up your proposed presidency.

I believe that America has had enough of being talked down to. Enough of the “Do as I say, not do as I do.” mentality. Obama doesn’t understand? I think it’s McCain who doesn’t understand that the idea of being spoken to, rather than being spoken at, is a refreshing thought after eight years of being treated like we’re too stupid to understand.

I believe that America has had enough of being treated as if asking for an explanation is stepping out of bounds, and that if an explanation were offered it would be far too complex for our comprehension so instead all we offer is the reassurance that we are doing the best we can.

For five of Bush's eight years The Republicans have been the majority in the senate, the house, the White House, and at Hooters.  What was accomplished??

Well, Bush claims that victory in Iraq was accomplished, oil companies say that record profits were accomplished, the economy says that a lot of under handed shat has been accomplished, Dick Cheney shot someone, Karl Rove ate all the cheese fries, and the Republican party says that MORE of this should be accomplished, and that they are the party to do it!

Better question: Is no one accountable?  For anything??  I’d like to think that it’s a group effort but come on, REALLY?  Five years of home field advantage with the Dems in the penalty box, and the best the Repubs can offer is….what?...The Patriot Act?... Crippling debt?

I heard Palin recently make a comment about the “Do nothing” congress…What?

You can’t drive a bus off a bridge and then blame it on guys who got off 18 stops ago… right? I mean, that doesn’t sound right to me….. but… wait… maybe you can!

What, what if they were terrorists? Yeah, yeah, that’s it!! ..No! Better yet!! LIBERAL TERRORITS!!  Still wearing their John Kerry flip-flops and their new Osama Obama buttons!!! It was they!!! Someone raise the Terror Alert Level to Eggshell Blue!!!!! No!! Raise it higher! Yellow Cake White!! This is worse that we ever thought!!! It was the Democrats all along!!!!  Dear lord, I hope they don’t have the Anthrax………

…... I can’t wait for Bush’s silly, condescending, disrespectful and apparently acceptable practice of governing this nation to end. It’s been a rough ride, I really just hope the new guy can read. I’ll take change in baby steps if I have to…

Accountability. America needs some…

Now that all of the momentum built up after the GOP shindig has started to fade, it seems as if though America (and hopefully a majority of America) is starting to see the McPalin team for what it truthfully is and not what it wants to be.

Did anyone see Palin's interview with Charlie Gibson in its entirety? Many people must have, because many opinions have changed, and not in McPalin’s favor.  If you didn’t see it, I’d suggest finding it because it quite enlightening.  Her answers were so obviously coached, that when Gibson re-phrased his questions in hopes of perhaps getting some kind of “Straight Talk” she only repeated herself, she didn’t even have the courtesy to re-phrase her coached answer.

Then she does an interview with, Sean Hannity.... Really?  You’d think that Fox would have used every second of this time to give America a bit more insight  into the possible VPs beliefs, and what ideas she has for helping McCain introduce needed change. Instead, they took some time to talk about Saturday Night Live, they might as well have let her husband do the interview!

As for the “Maverick” and his team of lobbyists, I think the jig is up. America may not have the most common sense gifted population in the world, but we’re certainly not the most handicapped either. How can you represent yourself as an agent of change when you, your proposed administration, and your constituency are the very same people that with such dedication supported the Bush Admin and what the Mav himself called their:

 “Eight years of failed policy”?

Does McCain not remember that he approved of and supported this failed policy 90% of the time? Do his supporters think that there would be a different Republican party at the inauguration potluck?? No, they’re all the same people, all hoping that America will forget where they’ve been led in the last eight years.

The Bush administration has worn America down with the half truths, blatant lying, and avoidance of accountability. And what I enjoy seeing is that many of us who fell for all of the lying and propaganda in the past, have had enough and are recognizing it for what it is. What is it?:

A bunch of people that have done such a horrible job at running this country for almost a decade now, that they’re left with the only tactic they had eight years ago, and that is try like hell to raise enough doubt about their opponent so that at the very least, they  themselves can appear to be the lesser of two evils.

You saw the same kind of strategies being utilized in Bush’s capaings, that you now see in McPalin’s, and people are tired of it!

I really believe that the Republican party’s recent practice of placing incapable people in office will be put on hold for a while. After all, you can only plug your nose and point your finger for so long before people stop to see that the smell just so happens to be coming from what’s behind the finger.

Just to reiterate, and I hate to break this to anyone who doesn’t understand, but there ARE NOT two separate republican parties, McCain’s friends and Bush’s friends are one in the same. In other words…

You can’t bake a bull-shat pie, and hope to get a slice of cherry….

Obama, ’08!

For me each post is a work of art...”-

    -Breaky..

You see my fellow bloggers, we’ve had it all wrong. Here we have been slinging mud and making outrageous claims about one of our own to the point that we forced him to write a blog and inform us of the reality of the situation, and I for one am grateful!

It was never about censorship, dissenting critics, critique of his opinion, or even about the fame, the  money or the girls….it was about the art!!

This whole time that we’ve been accusing him of being a coward, he has been creating his masterpiece! I now personally have a whole new out look on the situation.

Taking a step back, I see now that Breaky is just a sensitive artist asking to be left alone while his work is prepared for posting. It reminds me of  Michelangelo casting paint upon the ceiling of the of the Sistine Chapel, while a bothersome Pope Julius II stood on the other side of the doors demanding answers from the artist.

You see guys….  Breaky is Michelangelo….and we have been Julius…Don’t you see??? Well I have! And I for one am taking back all I said about Breaky! Not only will I leave him to his art, but I will defend his honor!

And another thing! Didn’t you all see in his blog where he proved that censoring blogs isn’t a new idea?? Didn’t you see that someone ACTUALLY had the idea to do that  before he did? Yeah! Suck on that, HATERS!!

So be careful on which the ground you tread my fellow bloggers! I will fight so greatness can spill forth from the fingertips of Breaky! Free flowing greatness, unmolested by your hateful words and demands for respect!!!

How dare he?? How dare YOU!!!

Step up if you think you can take it! I’ll go He-Man style on all of you!

(I wasn’t quite sure which category this would fit under best, so I put it here.)

Over the past few months I’ve come to understand what I can expect to see written in the blogs of some of you. Some of it I agree with, some of it I don’t. Sometimes I’m compelled to put in my two cents, sometimes I’m not. Some of you make me laugh, some of you make me nod in agreement, some of you make me want to scream in dissent, and some of you make me shake my head and wonder how you figured out how to turn the computer on.

I never lose sleep over the things I read here, on blogs I read, or comments I receive. This is very much a means of entertainment for me and I’ve always been under the impression that the many of us who spend the time that we do on this website, felt the same way….. Until now…

I read a blog just now that was written by a guy who has decided that he is no longer accepting comments. He has decided that he will post his blog, say his say, and log off. This option is certainly made available and I could care less if I’m allowed to comment or not however, he decided to write a blog and explain why he is no longer allowing comments.

He is not allowing comments because people disagree with him. So, instead of deleting all of the comments that oppose his message, opinion, cause, or whatever, he has decided that for the time being he will simply not allow comments. He will continue to blog, but god be damned if we will comment!! LOL..

If you’re so afraid of opposition, so afraid of being told you’re wrong, so afraid of someone winning an argument that you need to make it impossible for people to respond to what you have to say. Maybe you shouldn’t post your thoughts and opinions for everyone to see?

I can’t tell you how much this amuses me. He must have gotten picked last too often for kickball or something….because he is taking his ball, and going home. LoL..

“You guys better pick me first this time, or I’m goin’ home….and my ball’s comin’ with me!!”

Later...

So, the trailer starts and I'm completely stoked. I love westerns, I love Ed Harris, and I love Jeremy Irons. Just as my excitement peaks due to anticipation of an all out old school, tough guy, bustin' heads and breakin' hearts ,western flick, we see Zellweger (the obvious love interest) kneel over what appears to be the dead bodies of Harris and Mortensen (the heroes). My excitement starts to dull, really? They die in the trailer???

Then at the very end of the trailer my suspicion grows even more as we see H&M standing with guns a blazing in the very spot we see the two lifeless bodies. I'm not saying the movie ends this way with both heroes dead side by side. However if it does, how stupid do you have to be to give a full and complete summary of what will probably be a 2 hr + movie, in the very first 30 second trailer? Maybe it’s a dream sequence, maybe they're just resting before kicking more butt, however if it ends in that fashion....then I think I will have liked it better the first time I saw it, when the heroes were played by Redford and Newman.  I guess we’ll see...

Recently I’ve had a lot of exposure to some things I suppose you could call spiritual, religious, paranormal, or otherwise “other worldly” all together.  Not in any type of fantastic enlightening sense as finding Jesus or seeing a cloud in the shape of the virgin Mary, but articles, websites, television programs, even blogs, etc. that in one way or another are promoting a dogma of sorts, or just pushing the idea of some kind of  existence after physical death.

Some of this is my own doing in that I’ve searched some of this material out after reading “Blood Meridian” By Cormac McCarthy, crazy guy, Mr. McCarthy.

Anyway, since these exposures I’ve found myself thinking about death and the over all ending of mortality. Not in any suicidal or murderous sense, but in the way I suppose we all do from time to time while doing whatever it is we do when these thoughts creep up on us. I’m not normally one to look for answers in faith driven arenas, so even more recently I’m trying to understand why I’m doing, what I’m doing.

In terms of religious faith, I’m agnostic, not atheist. Personally I think it too arrogant for anyone to say with certainty that they KNOW something that in fact cannot be known no matter how much you believe or do not believe. Anyway, I’m not bashing religion when I say this, however I think it likely that the Bible new and old, Book of Mormon, the Koran, etc. do not contain “the answers” to what may come, if anything, after we die. I don’t really know or understand why I feel this way, but I do (and yes I’ve read the Bible, BOM, DOC, but I haven’t read the Koran).

So, even though I don’t believe these answers are found there, I went looking anyway. Did I find anything? Of course not! And I’m not bitter about that, I knew I wouldn’t, but what I’m trying to understand is why I looked there in the first place feeling the way I do.

Do you think they we are so driven by the uncomfortable thought of death that we will go to what we know holds no water just to have some feeling or aspiration of hope? Truly, with all quotes spared that were taught to you by your particular faith  that proclaim your knowledge that God exists and Jesus was his son, can anyone really say without lying to themselves just a little bit that they TRULY  KNOW god exists (not a challenge, more of a rhetorical question)?

Sometimes I think that somewhere in all of us we know without a doubt that there is existence beyond this one, and that’s why so many of us strive for understanding of it. I’m not sure if anything will come, I’m not sure if there’s anyway to prepare for it prior.

If there is a way to prepare, I wonder if ANY of us are on the right track.

I was talking to a lady friend of mine last Saturday afternoon. She was telling me about her favorite comedies, and after a few minutes I realized a few things: She was having a hard time explaining to me why these movies were funny, and all of the movies she was talking about were romantic comedies.

The next thing I noticed: Matthew McConaughey. He was in a few of these“chick flicks” that she was talking about, but then she started talking about another romantic comedy that was exactly the same as the last few except for this one stars...Matthew McConaughey... and the last ones starred....wait...Matthew McConaughey?...wait...is this one a sequel? ...No?..But..he has the same sexy/high paying job, has the same friends, he's wearing the same shirt he takes off to show the same abs, he drives the same motorcycle, he has the same issues that won't allow him to commit to the woman he was meant to be with... and..wait... really?...His love interest in all of these movies is a strong minded,  goal oriented, attractive, successful, woman who has such a  busy life that she doesn't have time for a relationship, but that doesn’t matter because she’s not interested in Matthew McConaughey  anyway......

But wait!!  After a bet or ruse meant to trick one or the other or both of them, they’re brought together and they realize that all of this time they've spent striving for success and happiness they were really looking for that one thing they were missing in their lives..... each other!!!

Wow, really?...I had more of a point but I think you get it... I think I’m gonna go start working on a script. My cat hacks up hair balls with funnier plots.

Later!

“We created you, we can destroy you!”

This must have been the title of the conversation around the campfire as Spielberg and Lucas discussed how they’d end the Indiana Jones franchise. They don’t exactly state that the franchise is now over with this fourth film, but after going where they did with the plot, I think it likely.

Not only was the plot lacking but they took what they knew already worked and tried to fix it, bad idea! The film is filled with so much CGI it’s enough to make you think you’re watching a really good cartoon. This also leads the way for them to put Indy in even more over the top and ridiculous situations in which his bass ackwards luck gets him out of, which in the past films I’ve loved, but in this one it loses its charm after a really fantastic first 20 minutes. After that, the CGI scenes leave you with a panicking feeling of needing to run home and watch the first three movies on VHS just in hopes of having a chance to capture the nostalgia the films have brought to us in the past. There’s one scene of CGI that involves a character swinging from vine to vine like Tarzan, this made me want to close my eyes and think of Indy and Shorty falling from the sky in a life raft and surviving to free the children from “The Temple of Doom.”

It wasn’t a horrible movie, like I said, the first 20 minutes was great! However after that, it goes down hill. Not only does the plot lack, but it causes conflicts with the plot of the third film, “The Last Crusade”, my personal favorite.

Anyway, if you’re a fan of Indy you’ll certainly appreciate the few and far between scenes in which the charm comes out and reminds us why we’re fans, but you won’t be wowed or moved by the plot or story. I don’t see this movie making as much money as its creators hoped. In the words of Short Stack....

“Oh no! You in big trouble now Docta Jones!! Big trouble!! I did nothing! It was you!! Big trouble Docta Jones, big trouble!!”

31 out 53 girls, ages ranging from 14 to 17 either have kids or are pregnant. (I know that 26 of that 53 are still having their ages debated)

Also, as of now there is evidence of old bone breaks in 41 of the kids (mostly boys) that were mended in the home, or not at all, and some boys may have been sexually abused.

It is obvious now that there was physical and sexual abuse. My question, how bad did the physical abuse get? Where are all of the younger men? (Numbers may be off slightly) They said there were about 600 people at the ranch at the time of the raid. They took 463 of them because they were either minors, or thought to be. About 80 women have been allowed to leave the ranch in hopes of being able to be with their children. This leaves about 60 remaining on the ranch, some of which are women who are obviously adults and have opted to stay, the rest are men.

Of the 463, 250 are girls and 213 are boys. Children 13 and younger are about evenly split, 197 girls and 196 boys, but there are only 17 boys aged 14 to 17 compared with the 53 girls at the same range. In terms of the these 53  girls, 26 are still having their ages debated. If all 26 were determined to be adults then that would even things up a bit more, but they’d still out number the boys 10 to1. Also, I think it seriously unlikely that all of  the 26 will be determined adults.

So, the number of legal adults on the ranch was approximately between 137 to 163 (adding the 26 disputed girls makes it 163). We know there’s approximately 60 people still on the ranch, and we’ll say that of that 60, 1 to 10 are female, and 50 to 59 are male. So, making the best approximations we can:

There were only 50 to 59 adult males, compared to 78 to 113 adult females.

263 to 272 total males vs. 328 to 338 total females.

So where do they go?

Pushed out into the world?

Traded to other FLDS camps like baseball cards?

Based on evidence of physical abuse mainly towards the boys, should the state of Texas be looking for un-marked graves? The children never left the ranch, who would miss them? Anyone know for sure or have any ideas? Either way, I’ll appreciate you comments.

Grand Theft Auto 4 hit the shelves today.

In this game you can commit pretty much any violent crime that you want, and in very graphic terms. I don't know who thought it would be a good idea in any world, have it be fantasy or otherwise, to allow the killing of Police officers while you are getting money from pimping your hoes, and yes, EVEN having your way with them. They even allow you to commit so much crime that the Army shows up, allowing you to kill U.S. Troops. They more or less make the "hero" of the game a terrorist, who are these people? All I have to say to anyone who plans on playing this game, or to any parent planning on buying this game for their children, is this:

It is the most awesome game I have ever freakin’ played! My entire week is shot!! I’m not gonna be doing much else other than rocking the foundation of Liberty City!  I’m in awe! So much better than GTA: San Andres. Beautiful graphics for such a concept and of course the awesome fun factor and game play! Anyone who has a problem with something this fun needs to calm down.  Goodtimes!!

I read an article recently published in an academic journal that I found to be rather ironic and rather disturbing.

A side by side Comparison was made of the U.S. constitution when it was created, and what it has become today. It was rather disgusting to see how close we have come to being what the founders of our country fought so hard to get away from. However, times have changed and I’m not so simple minded to believe that some changes were not needed along the way to ensure our freedom and liberty in a world that was growing more and more complicated.....but...our government has taken it much farther than that.

Here’s the ironic part. This study also did a side by side comparison to the U.S. constitution, and the current English constitution. Pound for pound, if the American colonies had just continued under English rule, we would have more liberty and freedom today as Englishmen, rather than Americans.

To push that irony even further, when Bush was on the war path and the French openly criticized the U.S. for so blindly going to war.  So many of us started pouring French wine down the gutter and eating “freedom fries”. Well, thanks to the President so many of us so diligently supported on his crusade into the middle east, the creation and passing of the Patriot Act put us so completely under the thumb of our own government that we now have less liberties and freedoms than the people who made that wine we so gleefully wasted. That’s right..........

“America, the land of the not as free as half the western world...and the home of the brave..”

Doesn’t have the same ring to it, does it?

I'd like to get some responses in regards to a video I've seen recently. I've looked into portions of the video and have verified through diffrent sources that much of what is stated , that's outside of the realm of opinion,  is information that can indeed be verified.

I really am curious to hear your opinions.
