Had a notice on my door today the water was to be shut off dur 9--4  for oh a 2hr. period.

It's 8.24pm ....no water.

South Salt lake get it together.  I walked down to the construction site.  There was one person using a suction hose and no one else.  They said there were more workers but I didn't see them.  Water is a necessary thing, why one worker?  For so many people inconvenienced.

Apparently they broke a part of the pipe during this mornings raid of no water.

And we all get to pay for it now ,  in my neighborhood.

How much is your water?

excellent idea, apparently and I do know this to be true having been a laborer. Some jobs can only be done by one person there is not enough room or circumstance. So I shouldn't be hard on the water co. But it makes you think what if? It's hard without for a day.

Not to downplay your going without water but ... when you said there was only one worker there, WOW!!! Think of all the times you drove past a road crew that had 10 guys leaning on shovels, while one person was in the hole...
Im not getting down on road crew workers either , I know how draining working around asphalt can be. It just seemed so opposite than the norm.

HA HA MKtavish, just as you say, The reaon for only one worker... precisely because the other ten were on another sight gathered around shovels telling fish stories, LOL.

OK I work around the mentality of construction workers. Here is the deal: you can line them all out on their assigned details all up and down the road. As soon as you leave to go put out a fire [10 guys on another sight standing around] Well then as soon as the cat is away the mice must all gather around to tell fish stories and entertain one another.

This is the other thing: You can send ten guys to a job to dig a hole and replace some pipe. as soon as the ten guys arrive one will realize that they forgot to bring 10 shovels.

since they only have three shovels seven guys will get back in the truck to go get some shovels. About this time two of the remaining three guys will decide that they need to go get a soda and ciggerettes from the store.

While at the store one of the two guys will realize he needs to stop over here or there or whatever.

Mean while 7 guys return with shovels. OOOOPS! the two guys that just left to get cigarettes and soda have the pick in their truck.

The seven guys get back into the truck taking the shovels with thme to go look for the two guys with the pick.

Finaly the boss notices 7 guys driving down main street and gets them on the phone demandng to know what is going on, It takes 20 minutes to joust throught the BUUULLLLSSSSCHHITTT and get them back on the job where the other two have returned with soda and ciggareetes.

AHHHH finaly everyone on th

darn ... cant edit.
But wanted to add also .... when you get a notice like that. Fill the bath tub up ... and remember there is also fresh water available in the toilet tanks. If you dont forget , and fush it.
And you can use a bucket of water from the tub to flush the toilet when it gets bad enough.

As Leon Russell would put it "I've been so many places in my life time" I'm 56 this Nov. I've seen my country go through a lot of changes. I personally while being a guitar player song writer for 38 of those years. I supported my music by becoming an optician, graduated top of my class, went on to manage 5 Dr.' offices and one super store. Before my forced retirement. I'm the street version of House. I have sciatic palsy. The limp and the pain just a little different medication I've been taking for 35 yrs. My point I hear a lot of angry young people on this site and I think a lot of them haven't been through or done enough to be that angry. But I am personally unhappy when I get cursed at and told what it is like by some kid. Not that young people don't have valid contribution. The name calling and stuff I can do without.
