An Atheist in an ocean of Theists

While I think Palin did a bang up job by doing better than I ever expected, given her lousy press interviews, Biden was clearly the winner.  Despite Fox's polls, most unbiased polls show Biden as the winner.  Here's a few examples:

I agree! Palin showed that she is teachable. She was locked up for several days being taught what to do and say before her nomination speech and this debate and did well with both; however, she has problems with quick on the spot responces. I found it interesting in looking at polls posted that in everyone I looked at the Rep. voted for Palin, the Dem. voted for Biden and the Indpendents casts the deciding vote for Biden!

I like how most commentator put it, "to Republicans Palin won, to Democrats Biden won, this is a great to know that it was a tie." How we decide who wins, there are many different ways, CNN, Fox, and MSNBC have all stated that Biden won but by only a small margin "by 51%" - MSNBC. I would agree on the issues, he did win, much like McCain did but in likeability, Palin won, much like Obama did. This is the last debate with a few differences but there was a reversing of roles between the Republican and Democrat candidates.

I agree with you completely. Palin did a good job just like she did with her nomination speech. It shows me that she is teachable; however, she has to be locked up for a few days with people telling her what to say and not to say. When she was uncomfortable she switched the topic to something she was comfortable. Left on her own with on the spot she is dangerous to her party. I doubt we will see many interviews between now and the elections. McCain will keep her under wraps.

Let me start by saying I am neither Democrat or Republican. It was very exciting to see Palin rise to the level of debating someone like Joe Biden. To go so far to say that she won the debate; non-sense. She never once addressed any attack on issues by Biden. Just moved right on, one time even saying she didn't want to answer the question at all. The part where Palin did fall over and crumble to Biden was over the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. All she could do was regergitate Tom Cruise's character's philosophy in Lions for Lambs. America is utterly sick of that giberish! Truth is, the Obama/Biden campaign is the only one giving a time frame, and committing to end the wars. Biden outlined specific campaign measures for he and Obama's platform, while Palin skirted the issues and only discussed her own personal issues she's fought and will fight.

I find myself really wanting to like and get behind Palin. But I can't and I'm not completely sure why.

I do agree dracco, that Biden came across much better. At first I thought Palin would help McCain, but now I am beginning to think that she might hurt his campaign in the end.

I was a bit disapointed in the debate. I wish Palin and Biden would have attacked each other more. Palin dodged the "debate" just to state her prepaired statements. It really did not matter what the moderator said she stuck to her comfort zone. Biden was not willing to go after Palin for fear of being mean! Palin should have gone after biden as one of the senior do nothing senators. she should have pointed out that our economy started to tank when Nancey Pelosi became speaker. Nothing good has come of that. Palin needs to brush up on policy and be able to answer the tough questions.

Ask them when they are going to declare war next time you take a poll. Would not want them to not give in to there predecessors peer pressure, or third world country hazing would you?

When you lower the bar to only having to not mess up too much this is the results. Biden won hands down and of course the pulse of the Independents told the story in that they declared Biden the winner but Palin stayed upright and that is all she had to do to please her party.
