Last week 50 of the top math and science teachers in the United States were flew to Washington DC for a week. They were flew there to meet and have a special banquet with President Bush. They arrived, waited and waited for him to arrive. Hours went by when they were finally notified that the President would not be able to meet with them as he got tied up while hanging out with the winners from the Superbowl. They basically traveled, left their children at home, paid for daycare, some husbands and wives took time off of work to recieve awards from the President. They had earned this right!! But they got snubbd by bush!! What a lame excuse for this countries leader. To choose sports over education. It comes down to this!!! We'll I guess if The President could count he would know the difference between $2.00 a gallon and $4.00 a gallon. He should have met the teachers!!!!
On the subject of " Bad Judge's " The judge and the city of American Fork have recently struck my curiosity. When you are convicted of a crime and need treatment for anything ranging from DUI, to shoplifting, he automatically referes you to the lady sitting in the court room from " ALLIANCE CLINICAL SERVICES " He does not even give you a choice or a chance to seek treatment elsewhere. The lady sits in the courtroom waiting for the next person in line. Treatment or not you should have a choice to seek treatment you are comfortable with and can afford if this is required. I am very close to a man who was convicted of an alcohol wreckless related driving. Now I do not agree with his crime, but I am a firm believer in 2 sides to every story. He was convicted, and immediately sent to the lady waiting from ALLIANCE. He was ordered to complete a manditory evaluation. Now Knowing this man personally I can honestly he does have a pretty good head on his shoulders and he rarly drinks alcohol. So I disagree with their evaluation stating he is severely depressed and has a severe alcohol issue and he could be close to suicide. I laughed so hard. He is the most easy going happy person I know. They also mentioned he was prone to have violence tendencies if he was not treated. Ok, now I am really loosing it. I thought it was a joke. Alliance set him up with a plan for treatement and sent the judge their recommendation. So now he was stuck in ALLIANCE HELL!!! Alliance made him attend group 2 times a week. This costing $55.00 each hour long session. He was also required to do 2 individual sessions per month at $95.00 each. These sessions have just enough time for everyone to state their name drug of choice, what they did that day. and what they do for work. So you have 30 people in an hour long session, that say all of this, well there is your group treatment you pay $55.00 for. In the individual, you are asked what has been bugging you that day. When you tell JIm you cannot afford to come to Alliance anymore because you simply cannot afford it, But THE GATHERING PLACE in Orem, is 60-80 % cheaper. He tells you to get another job and deal with it. There is a manditory class- PRIME FOR LIFE this 16 hour class is a requirement from the STATE of UTAH for all alcohol related convictions. Alliance requires it be taken in order to complete levels they use. Well THE GATHERING PLACE it costs $125.00, at ALLIANCE it costs almost $300.00. Huge difference. I was given a non-compliance because I told Alliance I was taking the class at the Gathering Place instead of with them. It is the same class. Only taught by some one not trying to bend you over. I wonder why and how the judge can order you to sign up with ALLIANCE when if you research your options you can find treatment that will fit your individual needs and one you can afford? Why is it he does not give you a choice? What does the judge get by signing people up with alliance? In my opinion Alliance is an overpriced joke for anyone to get treatment from. They have no idea how to treat anyone. Treatment should be on an individual basis. Alliance gives everyone the same treatment. one who has 1 conviction or 10. They all have to pay and complete the same. How is it you can figure that a man who hits his wife verse a teen who got caught smoking a ciggarette need the same treatment? This is the Alliance way. They are not here to treat or help people. They are here to make money from peoples mistakes. I understand people need help. But if you are making their lives worse, by putting them in a financial bind where they have to decide on paying the gas bill to have heat for their children or paying Alliance so they do not get a non compliance. Seems to me you are only making these people want to make more mistakes. How is this helping?
