Well, winter is here, at last. Snow, although early, is here.
But with all that pretty snow, there comes the toll from accidents on the road.
Traveling too fast, improper following distance, and not paying attention to the road is the total problem that causes these preventable crashes.
Yes, driving unsafe on slick, wet roads and having an accident, is a preventable affair. So, what can you do to drive safe in the winter? Well check this out....
First off, lets talk about speed. Slow down! Slow down! Slow down! driving the speed limit on wet, slick roads is just silly. When you drive too fast, you risk having an accident, that could have been avoidable. See, tires, work on the concept of traction. There are 3 types of traction..static,100%,rolling, 50-35%, and wet which can range anywhere from 15% to none. Tire tread depth plays into this too, so make sure that your tires have more thread than a tenth of a penny deep.
Visibility is degraded when its snowing. So, why would you want to drive fast, especially when you cannot see?
Skid avoidance...traveling distance and speed plays into how you can control your car during a skid. Break pressure can also be a huge factor during or before a skid. Avoid panic stops when you have to stop. This locks the axles up on your car(even with ABS..ABS fails sometimes), and makes steering very hard. Tap your breaks, if you have to. Repeated tapping, enables the wheels to maintain rolling motion, keeping you in traction with the driving surface, and in control of your car.
Take care of your vehicle. Replace your windshield wipers, and check your coolant, and oil levels. And if driving a diesel engine equipped vehicle, make sure you use #2 diesel, blended with either #1 type diesel, or a fuel additive that prevents fuel filter clogging. See, Diesel jells up when tempatures drop below 29 degrees.
Well, I hope these few tips can help someone avoid what I like to call, epic stupidity, and getting in an accident that could have been avoided.
Always remember...What speed id too fast when driving on slick roads? Just a half a mile per hour can be too fast, and the safest place to be, is in your driveway, keys in the house, and you taking the bus to where ever you have to go.

I busted down and cried when I heard the story about people dropping their pets off at the local shelter either because they can no longer afford them, or because they just got evicted from their home. This is disgusting.....
How can people abandon their pets? I mean, don't these people have any special feelings for the dog, or cat, that they raised from babies, or become friends when they adopted their pet from the pound?
At least dropping your pet off at the shelter is a humane thing to do. Its just sad because these people just had to get rid of their pet, although I personaly don't see how they can do that, especially when there are places to live that do allow pets.
But, pet abandonment is on the increase. Some people drop their pets at the pound, and some do something more sinister...dropping them out in the wild, or just killing them.
Come one people, lets keep those pets in your home. If you cannot find a place to live in SLC, move out. Find a place to live, and keep your pets. The shelters are becoming more over crowded, and the optoons of killing your pet, or dropping them off in the middle of nowhere is totally uncalled for, sociopathic, and is just as disgusting as child abandonment, or murder.

Child predators. They can be anyone. An aunt, uncle, mom or dad.
Although child abuse is a very disgusting subject, lets talk about over reacting, and the destruction of civil rights of the public in general.
When a case of child predatation is reported to the media, by police agencies, or the media finds out by themselves, the story is put on the airwaves, and the public sees the story.
But how ever, the story often ends up condemning the person charged, before he can go to court.
Yes, child abuse in any form is disgusting. But, what becomes dangerous for the public in general, is when the news story reported by the media becomes a case for the public to panic, and cause problems with court convictions, by tainting prospective jury members, and damaging the reputation of a very much possible innocent man.

Ahhhh, I just heard a story, about a sherrif in Illinois, who refuses to evict any more people from their homes. Good for him. Someone finally figured out compassion, and justice go hand in hand. Now, it would be a grand event if cops here would grasp the concept, instead if being shallow, mindless drones.

Just got through having a long discussion with my boy about the virtues of living like Christ did. And, during our long discussion, we had a chat about the news story about the bank robber up in Ogden, who fought off police, and said he was Satan. A very interesting story, and what is to follow, a very scary one indeed.
Possession. The story of the story behind the exorcist, brought this very real, and very dangerous phenomenon into mainstream religious circles, and into a scientifically verified research community. But, here is the very disturbing question? What if he was really possessed?
Now, considering the very high probability that the man is very mentally disturbed, suffering from paranoid schizophrenia, why would we discount the possibility that this man is probably possessed by Satan, or any one of his demonic minions?

Political
The rhetoric is ramping up here lately. Its election year, and someone always wants to change the world. What new laws will be passed? What rights will we lose at the hands of government, ripe with corruption, and big business, who is ever so riper with greed mixed in with corruption? What new laws, will a over zealous member of our supposedly unbiased law enforcement community bend, and change to feed fear, and oppression in our communities? And, what rhetoric will the public buy into, become confused, and support those who rape us of our freedoms and liberties?
Its election year. The November elections are just under a month away. Its time, people chose who they want...not to be made to do so by fear, and distortion of the truth.

The Mormon church's attempt to influence the out come of the November elections, is to say the least, very disturbing to say the least. This attempt, greatly crosses what is suppposed to be the line between church and state.
I, personaly would like to call this latest attempt at religiomcopression to influence political out comes, a very grave distortion of mans law, especially inside of the United States, and in a very big way, against God's law, freeedom of choice.
The people of California, voted to change the law, and allow gay marriages ( distortion of gods law about the ability to procreate life, and confuse great feelings in the bedroom with the ability to procreate) Thats their choice. It is not the right of the Mormon church to impose its will upon the people of the world, California, and the United States. That is just wrong, and just as wrong as those people who choose to distort God's law, and confuse great love making with love making between a man and a woman, which results in the creation of life.
In other words, which I hope the Mormons understand...thats their choice, if the state of California wants to allow same sex marriages. It is noe of your business to go out and try to tell what the state of California should do inside of their own government.

The economy has finally hit Utah, at last. But, do people here really know whats in store?
There was a blurb on yahoo about record numbers of utility disconnects. Sounds trivial, doesn't it? Think again.
Its a scary thought when people cannot pay the high prices for home heating oil for winter time use, the rising cost of electricity, and the ever sky rocketing cost of natural gas. Heck, we just dodged a rate increase in good ol' Fantasy Valley, Utah. But, whats really disturbing, is that money is being cut from state and federal funds for heat and utility assistance. And, winter is fast approaching, and soon for some families, it will become a choice of heat, or food. Guess which one wins out.
See, nation wide, economic troubles are not just on Wall Street, with its crisis of greed and corruption. Its here, in Main Street USA, and here, in Fantasy Valley, Utah. And for those, who will be losing their homes, with no place to go, life will become very hard.

I revel in the fact, that after all is said and done, this year is an election year. I also revel in the fact, that Wall Streets days of greed, are over. What I do not revel in, is watching the government, bail out Wall Street money firms, and pad bank employees pay checks. I do not revel in the fact, that millions will lose their homes. The possibility of food shortages, soup lines, and the reality of a rising violent crime rate, because it will now be a brave new era of have and have nots. I do not revel in the fact that there is a very real danger, of the American dollar losing all value, because of the current money crisis, as it turns out, is far worse than govenment was led to believe, and as a result, was too late to act.
Yes. The bank melt down on wall street was a beautiful thing. Bank CEOs got rich, people suffered, bank CEOs earned hefty retirement accounts, while people suffered, and yet, nothing was ever done to put a damper on what is to become the next great deperession.
Yes, the market melt down on Wall Street is a beautiful thing. But, in all its beauty, lies the fact, that easy money, is what the markets offered, and now what we earned is possibly total economic collapse. And, with the billion dollar bail out being promised by government, lies the prospect of America being turned into a third world country...if it has not happend already, litteraly over night.

Ahhhh, the sounds of fall....birds chirping as they make their way south, the sound of all the crying and tears, from people losing all their lifes savings as the stock market falls to where it should be...not some hyper inflated mega manical scene, where corporations ruin people, by theft of their hard earned money.
Government removed regulation in order to bolster economic trade at the urging of Wall Street firms. Now, when the mess hits the floor, those same executives who lobbied for deregulation, take home mega seperation packages.. CLASSIC SIGN OF STEAL FROM THE POOR.
And now, it's America who pays..and is left holding the bag.

The SLCPD Swat team saves a life. As being fair, kudos are in order.
But, on the other hand, that does not erase the fact that law enforcement along the Wasatch front has killed an abnormally high amount of potentual suspects because of police trigger happy attitudes.
Had those suspects been alive, instead of being victims of trigger happy policemen, they might just congradulate the police on the good job they do.

Faith
Ok. I was reading through some of the blogs in the faith section last night, and checking out some of the comments, and even read and posted some of my own. But, while I was doing this, I had this sudden insperation peck out this post on the ol' key board. (it was like a hammer hit me up side of the head, I tell ya! No, wait..that was the cops tazer as I told him that he should have his real gun replaced with a squirt gun, lol!) Now we all know the story of the bible. And we have a understanding of the concpets that the collection of stories in both the new and old testament has to talk about. There is even groups world wide who look into these stories about Christ, and all the prophets of the lords holy word. But, in this rush to seek and verify if the words in the bible are real or not, and anto make a person rather than to guide man on how to live, many have begun to get very lost on the way. And lost, these people really are.
See, admist all the suffering in the world from war to pestilence, man has taken some of the words the bible says, and just twists the heck out of them. But, the underlying message in the bible remains to this day....and this I hope a few people here do understand, these words I am typing here, is that the lord, and his son, are saying that you should treat people the way you would like to be treated. Always more, nothing less.
Treating people the way you would like to be treated...respecting each others rights to live, rights to happiness, rights to truth, and liberty for all. (Yes, even those murdering doctors and women, robbers, murderers, and Osama and the Bushes, and those who seek abortion, and cops, need to have these rights respected too!) Stopping and helping your fellow neighbor, regardless whether you despise, hate, or wish he/she would drop dead. Even to extend the art of forgiveness to those who deserve it, from the lowliest of criminals, to the local police.(yes, those disgusting gestopo and criminals, including theifs, perverts, murderers, and others need to be forgiven, at one time or another) Going out and treating people with the kindness, dignity and compassion all of humanity so rightly deserves. And, teaching those around you the art of love...giving your self to each other your gifts of compassion, kindness and love.
No where in the bible, does it say to go out and bash some one in the head for not doing or living worship the way you want them to (wait...there is an old passage in the old testament, which the prophets Moses, David, and others passed down to those people in the old testament, in which Christ's instructions in the new testanment, gives these instructions to read, (clearly stating not to do this at home, or in public,) something about a passage about stoning the heck out of someone for something or other)
The bible clearly says to spread the word of God, live like God and his son by living the messages the bible says on how to treat each other with the rights of kindness, compassion, thruthfullness, loyality, and respect. So put those stones, phones, gun, rifles, and naughty books up. Go out and look at the human body exhibit at the Divinci center. And, last but not least, go out to the man or woman on the street, tell them you love them, all is forgiven, for what ever they may do, and give them all a great big hug, because that is the true message the bible talks about, put down by none other, the holiest man above, Jesus Christ. The son, of the true living god.

Abortion. The womans right to choose. Life, or death...after all, it really is her choice. Not some extremist person trying to shove the bible down a womans throat.
Abortion, the right to choose. Murder of an unborn human being. Violently, by a high power vacume, until there is nothing left of the fetus but blood, and dead cells that the body ejects later after the operation. But, abortion, really is a womans right to choose. Whether right or wrong, the fetus she is carrying is in her body. Not mine, not yours, and not the governments, or the churches. Abortion, nature does it with out political recourse...ridding the body of a deformed fetus.
Educating a women is one thing as to whether she wants that fetus she is carrying to live or die by her choice. Letting churches interfere with a persons right to their body, is something else. And that, is just as evil as killing an unborn fetus.

Ok. Lets get this straight...the living body exhibit at the Divinci building too graphic for grade schoolers? What is so graphic about the exhibit? The cut-away view to the inner workings of the human body? I do not think so.....
Whats the shame of teaching 5th graders, or better yet kindergarten kids the inner workings of the human body? Whats wrong with teaching these kids how the human reproductive system works? What is wrong with educators these days, when they send out notices on why they foolishly spent taxpayer money sending kids to the zoo instead of the living body exhibit? Wait....I know, these are the same house trash who beg the government for money each year, complaining that they do not have enough money for indoctranation...err...I mean education. Now, you see why education needs its budget cut.
Knowledge is power. Teaching young kids how the body works empowers them to understand how and what and why certain parts of the body does what it does. It makes them understand just how wonderful the human body is. It teaches them that the body is a special vehicle, used to transport a living being around the world. And, it teaches them that because the body is so special, that its ok to tell some one no, when they try to hurt them.
Yep...leave it to UTAH to squander the most wonderful educational art exhibit in the world, by censoring who may see it. Man, people here are so stupid!

Now, I have heard it all. I thought, that maybe this wall street crisis would wake AMerika up from its dope infused sleep. But I was wrong....and how wrong I was.
If anything this crisis has shown the greedy lining of AMerikan society, is that money cannot grow on trees. A economy driven by easy credit, and out of control consumer spending has managed to throw what was one of the most successful democracies in the world, to the brink of disaster. And, yet again, your loyal to the banks leaders, Bob Bennet, Chris Matthison, and others, have just found out money grows on trees, at least that's what our dearly uneducated money secretary seems to have told these inbred mongrols.. I often wonder, why, do the leaders of this country think you can just waste money, like it does grow on trees(which it does not, REALLY!) My dog has a better understanding of money than these fools do!
Come on...Tax Breaks for businesses? And consumers? Are you insane? Or, just stupid? Where do you plan on getting the money from? Europe? China? Japan? Their financial markets are in just as bad of shape, because of our ineptness on how to run a economy!!!!!!
Great depression. Thats what this country needs. Civil war. Thats the only way you will effect change. Think about it.
