Child predators. They can be anyone. An aunt, uncle, mom or dad.

Although child abuse is a very disgusting subject, lets talk about over reacting, and the destruction of civil rights of the public in general.

When a case of child predatation is reported to the media, by police agencies, or the media finds out by themselves, the story is put on the airwaves, and the public sees the story.

But how ever, the story often ends up condemning the person charged, before he can go to court.

Yes, child abuse in any form is disgusting. But, what becomes dangerous for the public in general, is when the news story reported by the media becomes a case for the public to panic, and cause problems with court convictions, by tainting prospective jury members, and damaging the reputation of a very much possible innocent man.

I don't think the public would panic,
him/her being on the news means he/or is in custody...

I don't think that the person being convicted would be innocent(I noticed you said MAN other than MAN/WOMAN)because usually the police investigate the person for a while before even thinking about arresting him...
therefore the person couldn't possibly be innocent.

even if somebody calls and says someone else is a predator, the police would still investigate...

Oh how wrong you are,
I personally know of a case where a co-worker was accused of a nasty crime involving a child. The SLCO Sheriff investigators rubber stamped the investigation- not doing a lick of "investigating", merely taking the "victims" word. The D.A. rubber stamped the arrest warrant assuming that the Sheriff Investigators did their job, it went to trial and the jury found the accused innocent. Had the investigators done even a few hours worth of work on the case they would have found it had no merit.
But the damage was done, this innocent man lost his family, career and life long friends just because of the accusation.

The Media put his story on Page One when he was accused, yet when he was found innocent it was buried on page 5 and didn't even mention his name.. it simply read, "A man accused of ______ was found Not Guilty."

I would panic, I have. I will spare you a long story. This is a tough subject for me to talk about. My opinion is befor it is put in the paper the accusation needs to be confirmed as an actual fact, how I don't know. Anyone can say anything and some are convincing liars(the accuser or the accuseded). I feel for anyone. I do feel at the same time that the public needs to know what is going on outside in the world that our children go out into.I do agree that people are condemed befor they even get a trial. I knew a girl in shcool who molested by a family member as you can imagine she was scared has what to do he was married and had a small child. After telling a friend she told the school counselor and they reported it. My friend had to talk to detectives and they told her that because of certain things they did not really beleive her and they if she pressed charges he probably would not get convicted. So being young and not having the support of her family she belived the detectives and didn't do a thing. For a long time she regretted this not knowing if this monster would do it again to another young girl, she would tell me she would never forgive herself if it did.We don't know if it happened to anyone else. I know I'm probably not making my point my emotions are getting away with me sorry.I guess my point is that I see your point of view but know that a victim may not.

Dont put yourself in the position of allowing even the possibility of an accustion.

I have found that it is usually a simple matter to just make sur you aways have a third party present when ever you are in the company of any persons in which this could become the reomotest possibility of happening.

If somnones child or anyone under the age of 18 gets near me close enough to touch in even the most innocent of ways... I panic and repel in fear of just this problem coming up.

I was one accused in my younger days... It never went anywhere but it tuaght me to be carefull of all of my surroundings.

In a brave new world, we need to question all motives, good or bad. Not because questioning motives is a fad, but because as the old saying goes, the highway to Mephistopheles lair is always paved with good intentions. We need to fight evil in all of its forms. From the drug dealer down the street, to those in power, and to those who serve in our churches. We need to start being aware of what is happening in our own back yard, because, now is the time. I am against public education. Not because education is a bad thing, but because we do not educate our kids, we indoctrinate them. I am against law enforcement, and the penal system. Not because I am a fan of criminals, but because of the criminals behind the badge, behind the judges robe, and behind the offices we elect them to. I am for the underdog, because it is he who is usually the victor. I always help those in need, and also help those who are not. I am for those who want to help make humanity better. Not worse. I am for those who sacrifice a whole life to protect us from those who wish to destroy us. You will either agree or disagree. My posts are my opinions only. It is up to you, the reader to think about the issues being written about, form your own opinion, and decide what you want to believe. Welcome to a brave new world.
