The rhetoric is ramping up here lately. Its election year, and someone always wants to change the world. What new laws will be passed? What rights will we lose at the hands of government, ripe with corruption, and big business, who is ever so riper with greed mixed in with corruption? What new laws, will a over zealous member of our supposedly unbiased law enforcement community bend, and change to feed fear, and oppression in our communities? And, what rhetoric will the public buy into, become confused, and support those who rape us of our freedoms and liberties?
Its election year. The November elections are just under a month away. Its time, people chose who they want...not to be made to do so by fear, and distortion of the truth.
Some say law enforcement should be given our support, because of the job they do. Some say, they feel safe with police patrols in their neighbor hood. How ever, I for one beg to differ.
The reasons I differ you may not agree with, but rest assured, tese are valid observations, and a testament as to why law enforcement gets a bad rap from me.
First off, lets talk about officer involved shootings in Utah, and the way they are dealt with, and the reason why this has got to change. When a police officer is involved in a shooting, the officer is put on paid leave pending a supposedly rigerous investigation. But, have you ever noticed that these police officers are justified in the amount of force they use? Especially when it entails a death of a suspect? And, this is no surprise, because the investigations are done by none other...the police them selves.
Now some say this is a good idea, because one, it gives a supposedly unbiased approach to an investigation into why the officer shot the suspect. Now, I think the rules should change for officers using deadly force. And, a big change that should be made, is the formation of civilian investigative panels, simular to the jury system courts use to conduct trials. The other change that should change, anther one against officers, is their paid leave be taken away during the investigation. No officer should get a dime of their pay, just because the suspect, which is now a victim, is now dead. If a officer is found guilty of using excessive force, which reults in a death, that officer should face the death penality, just as any normal killer would.
Most police officers that I have interacted with have a holier than you and me mentality. These officers, are poorly disciplined, poorly trained, and should not be behind the badge they wear. These are the guys, who harrass people, under the guise of doing their job. These are the guys, who are at war with the public. These are the guys, who will make up an excuse just to stop a person at 5 AM while jogging, and detain the person, while the officer trys to identify the person he stops. (I am sorry, but a person wearing jogging clothes at 5 in the morning out with his dog, is not a criminal, breaking into a house per say, and fleeing the scene of the crime) These guys, are the reason as to why all law enforcement needs to be reigned in.
Yes, I despise law enforcement. I think, that most of the time, the police officers we trust so much to protect us are the ones who should be put in check. Not because of being hard on crime, but being given too much power, and creating a society of oppression instead.
I started to watch the presidential debate tonight, but I got so disgusted, I shut it off after 5 minutes. Besides, whats to listen to? The 2 parties canidates all the same thing anyway, just mix the words up a little. And, not only is the presidential debates aired here nationaly, they are aired through out the world, showing the world just how much of a sham American politics really are.
And, the Chinese said it best. American politics is based on none other than...showmanship! The problem here is, it takes the Chinese who are under a communistic form of government to point out the fact America is really AMerika, communisim in disguise.
What is each canidate going to do for the economy? Well from the sounds of it, make it worse. If either one of the McSames or o'Blah Blah think they can pass on a sham of a tax cut on Amerikan families, they need their head examined. And if that was not bad enough, earlier in the campaign, O'blah blah stated he wanted to invade Pakistan to chase Osama Bin Laden...a very stupid move indeed...much worse than the ill concieved war in Iraq. What did McSame say that he was going to do to save the world, our economy, and cut taxes? Basicly the same thing!
Amerikan politics is just that...the greatest snow job on earth..American politics on the other hand, is non existant.
Maybe this wall street melt down will teach the American public one important thing...that when you hit the pocket book, do people only pay attention. And its disgusting, that politicians know this. And this, is how wall street screwed up to begin with.
Oh boy! Its election year in AMerika! We can figure on who is going to win elections, both local and national, and those in government are using their jobs to use pad the vote, by using dead people as registered voters! But according to the state of Vermont, and other New England states, "this is a mistake". But in reality, this is what is called stuffing ballot boxes, and is a highly illegal event.
Bit, what is it when the greatest democracy in the world takes and allows this to happen?
Have we all grown so blind and stupid that we can not even question local government before a election to see if they have padded that vote for the local, state, and national government?
Or, it it because we just do not care enough to protect our precious freedoms..and there fore making us AMerikans?

The cold war ended, about 18 years ago. And for some, it ended earlier. But what was so special about the cold war, there was no nuclear tipped rockets launched, or any A-bombs dropped from low flying bombers.
And what makes the cold war even more bizzare, was that both sides fought little brush fire wars like Vietnam, and Grenada, or the Panama invasion. But what is so stunning, is that although both sides actually claimed to never have directly fought against each other, there were actually times when both sides came so close to ending life as we know it. And to this day, a lot of what went on in Germany, and else where will remain classified for years to come.
The cold war is over and those who have served, long forgotten. The Global War On Terror has over shadowed the past, putting the most important part of history, in the back pages of modern history.
Man kind is quick to dismiss events from the past. We forget past events, and concentrate on the future. But we need to learn from history, not because its a required subject in school, but because it the past that educates us for the future.
This post is dedicated to those who served in the cold war, the greatest war that never is remembered, and its lessons learned.
