Has any one read the story on the tornado that touched down in Colorado today? That tornado, along with several others, are linked with the same storm system that brought Utah its unseasonably cool weather and snow to the mountains. Now, that same storm system, is moving east, and the last time I checked NOAA.gov, it was east of Grand Island, Nebraska, and moving quickly east ward. Its spring time in the Plains!

What a way to start a Monday morning..bright sun, warm temps, and a great forcast for the rest of the day.
And, more and more people start to return from a winter of hibernation, and show off those new jogging suits, and play those sport games.
But with summer, and all that nice weather every one craves(personally I like the winter), comes the dangers of summer most overlook.
So, what is the dangers of summer? Well, the main one, is HEAT.
Heat cramps, heat exhaustion, heat stroke, sunburn, dehydration and last....heat stroke, heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and sunburn.
So, enjoy those summer days....jogging in the over 90 degree heat, playing baseball during those over 100 days, and remember...drink plenty of water.
Climate changes. Its happening, right here, in Utah. What makes this such a dire situation, is the loss of snow pack, vital to water supplies throughout the west, not to mention, threatening whole species in our mountains.
Across our country, we are already seeing just the first in a series of events, that may be unstoppable. From the displacement of ocean currents that drive global weather patterns, to massive and quite often deadly tornadoes, to massive super hurricanes. These events are not just driven by nature, but by man.
From experience, ( I am a weather spotter for noaa in Tooele) I have seen right here in Utah, changes that are making a big difference in how we live. And during the last few years, from my observations, weather patterns have changed. Snow pack depth has changed. Water is becoming more scarce. And, unless more is done, a lot more scarce.
There is a lot, that countries through out the world, can do to slow these changes of climate patterns. From reducing carbon dioxide from factories, power plants and auto mobiles, to education of the public in general.
As it is already being spread through out the media, climate change is real. Countries economies, and peoples lives are being threatened all over the globe. And right here in Utah, unless growth is more closely monitored, we could become the next Somolia, with famine, and civil unrest caused by lack of what sustains life....water.
