Legalize? Decriminalize?

I want to know just who in Utah is open to say that they are ok with marijuana legalization, or even just decriminalization. i am going thru a court case now because i was busted at a school, not with and weed on me, only pipes and lighters and being high, but they couldnt prove that fact. i went to my first court hearing, and i admitted the charges, but when i told the commisioner the story of what happened, he entered a denial on my behalf. so what do you think of that?

i think your stupid for throwing your life away and think just cause you do something wrong you deserve to get away from your punishent. you did wrong and the courts would be just as stupid if they let you go. grow up and go to college instead of doing herb. you have your whole life ahead of you why waste your life by doing this stupid act. one day your going to spend time at the point then what do you have to say for yourself.

While I hold a firm stance of Leagalization of Canibus, You have to use responsibility with it. You dont go to school drunk so why would you go high? See its things like that that keep people seeing the negative... and just like alchohol there should be an age limit too.. dont get stoned and expect an education... get your education and when you are an adult you can make the choice for yourself. Bringing stuff like that around impressionable teens and kids isnt very responsible.. I can only hope your talking about college but from the way it sounds your probably in jr high or high school. sorry dude I just cant think how what you did is excusable.. please use this experience as a lerning one... exert your rights but do it responsibly.... doing things like that only show Canibus and its supporter in a bad light.. and it gets negative media because of it. If you truely want it legal keep it out of schools and for god sake become an adult first.... then you can make the choice for yourself not fall in with a fad or what happens to be cool at the time.. trust me by the time you hit thirty most of the stuff you did in school will make you embarrassed anyway.

Your screenname "POTHEAD", says it all. Just like with alcohol, usage should be responsible. You obviously aren't. Situations like this are what's keeping the process bogged down.

If he had empties in his car and alcohol in his system, I'd be just as upset. What he does is his business. Bringing it out where others are makes it society's.

I whole-heartedly advocate the decriminalization of Marijuana. It should be just as legal (and regulated) as alcohol. I think you should've been busted for committing a crime because as of now, IT'S ILLEGAL! However, I don't see you as any more of a bad guy as someone getting popped with beer.

Most people that demonize marijuana are victims of propaganda, ignorance and many of them are ignorant. We can only hope that this ignorance will finally be defeated with a constant barrage of truth. Just keep spreading the word.

Have you noticed in the mainstream media and prime time TV that they bring it up alot.. and lately they dont seem to be comming down on it.. they seem to be showing a more acceptable viewpoint instead of the old "REEFER MADDNESS" attitude from previous generations. I am hopefull that this kind of mass media acceptance may change the social norms enough to really entertain the idea of decriminalizatioin. Keep up the good work Simpsons, Family Guy, Two and a Half Men and even much to my surprise Reba herself..... (while on the show she states she isnt into that but she isnt condemning other for trying it) according to the storyline.... Hopefully more shows will join the campaign

Yeah and the FDA also said that Viox was ok and Phen fen was ok and oh so was alot of other drugs... at least this one doesnt kill ya.. I agree po'd I dont think I would want to be at school high.. thats like taking an upper and a downer at the same time.. what a buzz kill... lol

LEGALIZE IT!!!! Take the power out of the hands of the criminals smuggling it in from places like Mexico and give it to the American people. Create Jobs, stimulate the economy and give us one more liberty that is due to us.

The only problem with the control of Marijuana as a legal substance is that unlike tobacco or spirits that have to be distilled it is really easy to grow weed yourself.. you dont really need special education or even equipment unless your trying to effect the potency or the quality of it... therefore if they tried to control it by raising "sin" taxes and things to detour people form excess use we would just grow it ourselves anyway.. That is really the only reason "logical" reason I can think of for the delay in the leagalization of it.. otherwise what are we waiting for? I do agree that most supporters of the legalization of marijuana would be more than willing to pay a tax to remove the "stigma" in proper society to the use of weed. I know I would.

Sure and you can easily make your own wine and beer. It's not really that hard either. It's also totally legal. I am all for people growing it themselves. Hell, You can grow your own tobacco too.

The truth is, most people don't want to grow it themselves. You can grow your own vegetables now, but how many people actually do that??? People are lazy... Especially pot smokers.

All I can say is prohobition was one sided and still is! I have had friends that where ill with Annerexia & Bulimia yet they lived due to marijuana.

What do you think alchol would do for them?

The pros out weigh the cons. It's Neocons that will fight tooth and nail to make lame excuses to ban it. I am surprised we haven't heard that god says it's bad... I'd be like, which one? LOL!

I agree!

I truly believe God put it on the earth to help
People. I have seen it work! Some areas of the country haven proven it with options of a green card to those desperately ill!

I also DO NOT feel you should be judged for self medicating unless it results in harm.

Our main questions we all should be asking is;
Does it really harm people?
Or does it help people?
How many people that are ill could get better or just even feel better? The list is HUGE!
Since it is an herb there is NO need for FDA approval!

I have seen many people with illnesses that have leagally been given this option.
It has helped them in ways that is amazing!
And the side effects are nothing! Yet compare them to the man made options & Yikes they are scarey!

That is just it the questions of is it bad for you has never been proven.
This makes it a victimless crime.
So it should not be a crime at all!

I myself feel that marijuana is not harmful it is not a man made substance! It is a
plant that can do much more good than harm like many other plant herbs.

Unlike ALCHOL does every day!

We are living in a free country to choose our means of medication this should include all options that are harmless!

Major companies do not want it legal because it makes longer lasting clothes, stonger & better ropes etc. So the Cotton, Tobacco & Alchol, etc. companies feel they would loose out and So they thrive to stifle the legalization! SHAME ON THEM & THOSE THAT DICTATE OUR FREEDOMS & HEALTH!
