I must say who does it hurt for them to marry. They are allowed their own religious beleifs as well, so who is anyone to push theirs on them.  If what the LDS church teaches is true then why are they casting stones more or less. What happened to not juding and be forgiving? Granite I am not LDS not that should matter but at one  time I was and there is a reason why I'm not. I am all for same sex marrige. Everyone has the right to happiness and equal life so let them have it! Leave them alone they are not hurting you or anyone else.

I think that people that are into same sex marriage need alot of help. They have been badly abused.

I do not care one way or the other theres a hellll of a lot more important issues our government should be concerned with than same sex marriage.
Who cares if the girls want to munch on carpet.
Or two gay guys want to play in poopooo.
Let the idiots get married they deserve to be as miserable as the other 50% or more percent of America. Who The Blank cares.

Unbelievable....Once again the Mormon Church is stepping in where they do not belong. These people are human beings. My god cares for human beings who do right by their fellow man. I cant believe that a Church who portrays themeselves as a caring church would do something like this. I have been married for 11 years and I have two increadible daughters. I am the luckiest Dad in the world. I believe that every human being deserves the right to expierence that feeling. I am glad this doesnt affect me. I am sad for the people that the church hurts.

You can help them by publicly speaking out against unconstitutional laws and discrimination against them. You can help them by adovocating their equal treatment. It doesn't matter if we agree with their choices, it matters that they have the choice. You make your choice, let them make theirs.

Same sex marriage however you flower it up, is against Gods laws of nature. David Archuleta knows this. That is why he has not come out of the closet

yes in a you are right we souldn't judge but on the other hand get your house in order i can name several societies that were distroyed becouse homosexuality was one of the many sinful actions that was being practiced, and the many text i want to post is this from anouther website that states why we have to stop this gay marrage bill from happning.
Having tolerance without condoning.
We can love someone while still maintaining and advocating our standards and beliefs. Unless Proposition 8 passes, California society will soon undergo a profound change in its basic understanding of marriage and family life.
That will affect everyone in numerous ways. Over time, greater acceptance of nontraditional marriage will be demanded of all people. This could impact the ability of any religion to teach and practice its beliefs. Proposition 8 will not hurt gays.
In California, the law provides for marriage-related benefits to be given to civil unions and domestic partnerships. Proposition 8 does not diminish these benefits. Failure to pass Proposition 8 will hurt children.
If gay marriage remains legal, public schools will put it on equal footing with traditional marriage. Children will likely receive “age appropriate” information about sexual relations within heterosexual and homosexual marriages. Failure to pass Proposition 8 will hurt churches.
The court’s decision will

rooferdave,

It's against your god's law, so perhaps you shouldn't partake. It's not your right to make the choice for others. That's what the 1st/14th Amendments prevent you from doing. If you don't like the rules, go live in another country. You have no right to deny others happiness based upon your dogma. ;)

extremedude,

You cannot prove that homosexuality brought down any society in history. Perhaps in your bible??? HAHA! The truth is, you need to apply your dogma to your life and leave everyone else the hell alone.

I am, quite frankly, disgusted with Christianity and it's hypocrite, unconstitutional encroachment on a secular society. This government is not suppose to recognize god. The "sancitity" of marriage is a matter for the church to uphold with it's followers and not try to oppress everyone else. How dare they think this culturally diverse society should be held to the tenets of their religion. Some of these idiots need to be beat about the head and shoulders with a rolled up copy of the constitution.

first of all the lds church along with myself is expressing our freedom of speech against this bad law, and it is our right as god fearing americans to stand up and fight for good laws or against bad laws since it was god that allowed us to have this wonderful nation after all!!! secound of all haven't you heard of soddom and gohmora straight out of the bible?
third of all it is pretty hipacritical of all you dang liberal complain about your different freedom when you never worry about the consertive view a.k.a christian view !!
and forth of all homosexuality is a abomination in gods eyes no ifs ands or buts about it and that comes staight out of the scriptures

Speak out all you want, but you are forbidden by those same rights you speak of from advocating unconstitutional "Sanctity (Godliness) of Marriage" laws. For legislators to even consider what an establishment of religion thinks is unconstitutional. IT RIGHT THERE IN THE SAME AMENDMENT YOU ARE CITING!!!! Look it up you zealot hypocrite. Why don't you look out for yourself and your family and let other choose for themselves. This secular society doesn't need to be molested and oppressed by Chrstianity anymore. Save your morals for your flock, I want no part of it.

"Whilst we assert a freedom to embrace, profess, and to observe the religion which we believe to be of divine orgin, we cannot deny any equal freedom to those whos minds have not yet yielded to the evidence which has convinced us."

James Madison

It becomes obvious that not everyone practices what they preach, an oh yeah, god doesn't like gay people, according to the LDS's version of God. No one person has anymore right than another to control the lives of another outside harming another. Maybe the LDS church should try remembering that, along with quite a few others.

Extremedude, It's you that is the idiot. If you trully understood and actually educated yourself about the founders and their intent with the Constitution. While some of them were christian, they were intending a secular government. There would be a wall of seperation between church and state. The 1st Amendment spells it out. IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, LEAVE!!!!

I don't care if you express your view of anything. However, when you try to unconstitutionally legislate your dogma, then I have a problem. So why don't you take your own advice your hypocrite zealot.

extremedude,

You want them to have been Christian. Sorry buddy many were deists. Jefferson, Franklin were among many that were not Christian. They wanted a secular government. Read history instead of your bible moron. You are a sheep. WAKE UP! Not everyone wants your dogma jammed down their throats. The 1st Amendment is there for a reason, you zealot idiot.

Oh and "Extreeeeeeeme Dude", I will quit having things to say about your views, when they quit encroaching on everyone's constitutionally guaranteed liberties. Your God didn't provide anything to anyone in my opinion, so keep it to your life and leave it out of mine. Your god isn't welcome in my life despite all your religious drivel. I am an atheist among many other non-christians that are sick of zealots like you.
